Accommodations
Guests will be housed at Majahua. Named for one of the indigenous plants, Majahua is architecturally unique, unassuming and playful.
The structure resembles a giant sandcastle and was designed by owner Jose Enrique del Valle, who took great care in making Majahua an integral part of the natural terrain. Built on a four acre hillside that reaches down to the ocean, the suites at Majahua are ample yet cozy and private, with all the amenities of home including a spa and services such as aromatherapy and massage. Guests will feel they are in another world!

About Chacala
Chacala is a friendly fishing village of 500 inhabitants nestled on the edge of lush tropical jungle in the south of the state of Nayarit on the Pacific coast of Mexico. The mile long, golden sand beach lies in a protected cove, making it ideal for swimming or just playing in the surf.
A birder's paradise, the bay is visited by Humpback whales during the Winter months. Other activities include hiking, cross country biking, snorkeling, horseback riding, or a visit to the petroglyphs at Altavista, a 30 minute drive from Chacala.

The Practice

There will be two yoga sessions most days.
An early morning two-hour session will be a more vigorous, demanding practice.
A late afternoon session will focus on restorative poses, pranayama and yoga philosophy.
Participants should have a minimum of two year's practice or consent of the instructor and able to do shoulderstand. Practice in this case means regular class attendance and/or consistent home practice.

The retreat is for experienced students (i.e., a minimum of two years practice). They should have  a solid grounding in standing poses,  practice shoulderstand, and have had instruction in headstand.

The sessions will be held at an open-air shaded platform near the sea, a short walk from the lodging site.
