Classes at the Lodge

YOGA from the Sanskrit yuj meaning to yoke, bind, join – is a way of life based on the principles of nonviolence, generosity, moderation and service. It is a noncompetitive discipline leading to an increased sense of vitality and a heightened awareness of the human potential and our interconnectedness with all beings.

Style of Instruction

HATHA yoga is a dynamic practice that uses the breath as a gateway to access the subtle energy flow or life force (prana) within the body. Yoga integrates mindful action, strength, stability, and flexibility. It returns the body to its original state of optimal balance, instills an overall sense of well being, and reconnects us to universal spirit. Yoga offers the possibility for profound transformation.

CLASSES at The Yoga Lodge encourage students to celebrate life by blending the art and science of physical instruction (asana), breathing practices (pranayama) and heart-centered, life-affirming philosophy. Instruction at the lodge is inspired by both the Anusara and Iyengar traditions developed by John Friend and B.K.S. Iyengar.

Recommended attire for all classes: t-shirt, tank, cami tops or leotard/unitard, shorts, yoga pants or capris, bare feet and empty stomach. Classes are open to all regardless of race, religion, or financial means.

Wendy Dion is the instructor for all classes at the Yoga Lodge.
